THE IEEE AEROSPACE CONFERENCE

The international IEEE Aerospace Conference, with AIAA and PHM Society as technical cosponsors, is organized to promote interdisciplinary understanding of aerospace systems, their underlying science and technology, and their application to government and commercial endeavors. The annual, week-long conference, set in a stimulating and thought-provoking environment, is designed for aerospace experts, academics, military personnel, and industry leaders. The 2020 conference is the 41st in the conference series.

WHAT SETS THIS CONFERENCE APART

High-Quality Papers and Presentations. Each year, a large number of presentations are given by professionals distinguished in their fields and by high-ranking members of the government and military.
Science and Aerospace Frontiers. The plenary sessions feature internationally prominent researchers working on frontiers of science and engineering that may significantly impact the world we live in. Registrants are briefed on cutting-edge technologies emerging from and intersecting with their disciplines.
Multidisciplinary Focus. This is the only general IEEE conference designed to facilitate cross-fertilization of aerospace disciplines and dialogue among members of government, industry, and the academic community.
Exceptional Networking Opportunities. The conference provides extraordinary opportunities for discussions and collaborative dialogue with aerospace pacesetters. Professional exchanges, which often extend years beyond the week-long conference, benefit the participants, their organizational sponsors, industry, and the engineering and scientific professions.
Author Development. The conference provides unusually thorough and supportive paper reviews, relying on expert guidance from senior engineers and scientists and an opportunity for instructive interaction between author and reviewers.
International Participation. The conference attracts a growing number of foreign attendees. Representatives of 27 countries participated in the 2018 conference.
Sequestered Venue. The Yellowstone Conference Center and lodging nestle closely together in the small village of Big Sky, fostering communications and ensuring easy access to all events.

Building the our future in space, from the ground up.

The burgeoning space-based economy, accompanied by an innovative ground ecosystem, is driving industry further than ever before with new technologies that change how we live.  As the business of space rapidly grows, its apparent that satellites have never before been so integral to such a broad scope of industries.  From transportation to the military, telecommunications to media & entertainment and beyond, the possibilities that satellites produce are never-ending in their applications.

This transition from a niche market to the mainstream has spurred the birth of the next generation of satellites.  Where we used to see tens of satellites launched annually, we’re now seeing hundreds, in addition to the replacement and reinforcement of existing infrastructure.  The next generation of space and satellites is here…this is a revolution, not an evolution!  There’s no time to sit back and wait for change to come to you; be a part of the action and get ahead of the curve by attending SATELLITE.

WISEE 2020 @ Vicenza

WISEE 2020 @ Vicenza | Vicenza | Veneto | Italy

The 8th Annual IEEE International Conference on Wireless for Space and Extreme Environments (WISEE 2020) will be held on October 12 to 14, 2020 in Vicenza (close to Venice), Italy.

Spaceflight involves critical sensing and communication in extreme environments such as planetary surfaces, space vehicles, and space habitats. The many challenges faced in space sensing and communication are extremely diverse and overlap significantly with those found in many terrestrial examples of extreme environments such as extreme hot or cold locations, extreme high- or low-pressure environments, critical control loops in aircraft and nuclear power plants, high-speed rotating equipment, oil/gas pipelines and platforms, etc. All of these environments pose significant challenges for radio-frequency or optical wireless sensing and communication and will require the application of a broad range of state of the art technologies in order to generate reliable and cost effective solutions. Although the specific challenges vary significantly from the environment to environment, many of the solutions offered by sensing, communication, and statistical signal processing technologies can be applied in multiple environments, and researchers focusing on space applications can benefit greatly from understanding the problems encountered and solutions applied in alternative environments.

This IEEE conference will bring together investigators from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), the Canadian Space Agency (CSA), the European Space Agency (ESA), and other space agencies, along with aerospace and space defense industries and academic researchers, in an effort to understand and solve the emerging problems facing wireless sensing and communication in space and related extreme environments.
