Discover QV-LIFT at the European Microwave Week

The European Microwave Week (EMW) is the biggest show in Europe on the microwave market, providing access to the very latest products and research activities.

ERZIA, one of the partners of the QV-LIFT Consortium, will attend as an exhibitor to the European Microwave Week in Nuremberg, Germany from October 10th to 12th.

The QV-LIFT project will be promoted at ERZIA stand and will be presenting the technology for future Q/V band satellite systems.

ERZIA is developing a state of the art V-Band Block Up Converter (BUC) based on GaN technology providing an output power up to 15 W and a Q-Band Low Noise Block (LNB) with a very low noise figure.

The BUC manufactured will be one the first solutions in the market in solid state technology providing these levels of power at those frequencies. A power combining structure will be designed in the output stage to reach the power desired.

Both the designs for the BUC and LNB will focus on reducing their size and mass as they will be integrated into an air terminal.

The tables below show the main characteristics of each subsystem:

– Table 1 BUC characteristics –

Input Frequency1.25-1.75 GHz
Useful Bandwidth500 MHz
Output Frequency47.2-50.2 GHz
Output Power15W (41.7 dBm)
Gain40-60 dB
ConnectorsIn: Coax; Out: WR-19

– Table 2 LNB characteristics –

Input Frequency37.5-42.5 GHz
Useful Bandwidth500 MHz
Output Frequency1.25-1.75 GHz
Noise Figure< 3.5 dB
Gain50 dB
ConnectorsIn: WR-22; Out: Coax
